Grupo RBS's Funcriança project is a mobilization network to encourage the company's members to donate up to 6% of their income tax to social projects registered with the Municipal Funds for Children and Teenagers. Grupo RBS advances the fund on behalf of the employee and a year later the employee repays the amount that was advanced by the company. FMSS selects and identifies the entities eligible to receive funds and manages the entire donation processes with Funds, besides monitoring the investment application. In 2010, BRL 256,000 was given to 23 social institutions in Rio Grande do Sul and in Santa Catarina, providing benefits to nearly 4,000 children and teenagers. |
Cow Parade - ZH DominicowThe cows of the Cow Parade that colored Porto Alegre in October and November were auctioned on the evening of December 1st at Bourbon Country Theater. The collected funds were donated to 10 charities in Rio Grande do Sul, among them the Municipal Fund for Rights of Children and Teenager (Funcriança), a donation encouraging program managed by the Fundação Maurício Sirotsky Sobrinho (FMSS). In addition to broad news coverage of the entire exhibit by its media vehicles, Grupo RBS contributed to the total proceeds of the charity event by buying one of the 79 pieces in the auction for BRL 90,000, namely the ZH Dominicow, created by plastic artist Rodrigo Oliveira. It was the highest amount ever paid for one of the cows exhibited in Brazil. The total amount collected was BRL 1.36 million, a record-breaking figure in Brazil. |
